Creative Arts Across Cultures
This course celebrates creativity by guiding students through artistic expression inspired by global cultures. Learners explore visual arts, music, movement, and drama while building confidence, collaboration, and self-awareness. Through a variety of media and performance opportunities, students develop essential creative skills while gaining appreciation for diverse artistic traditions. The course supports holistic learning and aligns with Oxford’s standards for creative education in the early and primary years.
Creative Arts Across Cultures invites students to experiment with various forms of artistic expression. Visual arts activities include drawing, painting, and crafting projects inspired by patterns, symbols, and themes from around the world. In music, students engage with rhythm, melody, and instruments, often through songs and movement games. Drama activities help learners develop storytelling and performance skills through role-play and improvisation. The course also introduces basic choreography and dance from different regions to promote physical expression and cultural understanding. Emphasis is placed on group collaboration, creativity without judgment, and reflecting on one’s artistic choices through class discussions and simple critiques.
